■Product Description
[Modeled after the latest Type 16. You can choose to build either the standard type or one with a winch.] The Type 16 Mobile Combat Vehicle is a wheeled armored vehicle of the Japan Ground Self-Defense Force that began procurement in 2016 and is being deployed throughout the country. With eight large-diameter tires, it can reach a top speed of approximately 100 km/h and is equipped with a domestically produced 105 mm gun with excellent accuracy. It is increasing its presence as a key component of rapid deployment regiments that can quickly respond in times of emergency. In addition, the Type 16 Mobile Combat Vehicle has undergone various modifications during mass production based on the opinions of personnel who have actually operated it. Among them, the vehicles manufactured with the budget for fiscal year 2020, the fifth year since procurement began, are called C5. A major feature is the air conditioning unit at the rear of the turret, which has been equipped since the previous generation C4. Furthermore, the C5 is the first type to be equipped with a towing winch so that vehicles that have become immobile can be quickly recovered.
Based on actual vehicle research, this model realistically recreates the formidable appearance of the C5, with its large-diameter 8-wheeled hull and 105mm gun. It captures and reproduces the distinctive features of the C5, such as the air conditioning unit and cleaning rod case at the rear of the turret, the added angles, and the antenna guard. You can choose to assemble either a standard vehicle or one equipped with a winch. For the winch-equipped vehicle, it's also possible to recreate the state where the wire, pulled out from the storage compartment at the rear of the hull, is routed along the pulley on top and the end is set at the front of the hull.
