■Product Description
[Target enemy positions on the Anzio coast!]
During World War II, the German army developed numerous self-propelled guns for infantry support and anti-tank purposes. Among them, the Wespe was a self-propelled howitzer based on the chassis of the Panzer II, equipped with a 10.5cm howitzer for infantry support. The main gun boasted excellent performance and high reliability, with a maximum range of 10,650m when using 14.81kg high-explosive shells, and 676 units were produced between February 1943 and July 1944. It was used for supporting fire on a wide range of fronts, from Russia to Northwestern Europe after Normandy. The Wespe also fought valiantly on the Italian front after 1943. In particular, during the Anzio landing operation, which began in January 1944 with the aim of capturing Rome, vehicles from the German 26th Panzer Division and 29th Panzergrenadier Division were deployed in the counterattack, causing trouble for the Allied forces.
