■Product Description
[The unsung hero that saved the Allied forces from their predicament]
The Valentine was a small, lightweight infantry tank that appeared in 1940, early in World War II. It was hastily developed to address the British army's tank shortage. Produced in both Britain and Canada, it recorded over 7,000 units produced by 1944, the most of any British tank during the war. The first Mk.II/IV to see combat was equipped with a 40mm 2-pounder gun. It featured a 130-horsepower diesel engine and a suspension system consisting of one large road wheel and two small road wheels as units, providing sufficient mobility for an infantry tank. It made its debut in the North African campaign in November 1941 and fought valiantly as the British army's main battle tank until the Tunisian campaign in May 1943. Meanwhile, many were also supplied to the Soviet army and heavily used for reconnaissance missions.
