■Product Description
[The most powerful anti-tank self-propelled gun equipped with an 8.8cm gun]
The Nashorn is a heavy self-propelled gun equipped with the German 71-caliber 8.8cm Pak 43/1, one of the most powerful anti-tank guns of World War II. At the beginning of the German-Soviet war, the German army was astonished by the unexpectedly powerful Soviet tanks such as the T34 and KV-1, and while they rushed to significantly strengthen their tanks, they also produced many vehicles that were self-propelled anti-tank guns as a temporary measure. The Nashorn was one of them, and it was equipped with a long-barreled 8.8cm gun on a chassis specifically designed for the Panzer III and Panzer IV self-propelled guns, which had just been developed at the time. It was equipped with a powerful weapon capable of destroying any Allied tank from outside their range. Its combat weight was kept down to 24 tons, and it achieved a maximum road speed of 42 km/h. When it was first deployed in combat in July 1943, it was called the Hornisse, but at the end of January 1944, by Hitler's order, it was renamed the Nashorn, and 439 units were produced by March 1945. The Nashorn continued to fight on both the Eastern and Western Fronts as an important force in German tank destroyer units until the end of the war. ■Product Specifications
