■Product Description
[The Eyes of Tank Units that Fulfilled Missions in the Vast Desert]
The Sd.Kfz.231 series was the central large armored vehicle for German reconnaissance units in the first half of World War II. Among them, the Sd.Kfz.232 was equipped with a long-range radio and a distinctive large frame antenna on top of the hull. It mounted a turret with a 2cm autocannon and an MG34 machine gun mounted coaxially on a flat-body hull. It had a maximum speed of 90 km/h on roads, and in addition to its high off-road capability thanks to its 8-wheel drive, it had a sophisticated suspension system with a rear driver's seat for quick reversal and 8-wheel steering to reduce the turning radius. The Sd.Kfz.232 utilized its superior mobility to perform reconnaissance missions as the eyes of tank units on all fronts from Europe to North Africa and Russia. In particular, it demonstrated its capabilities to the fullest on the North African front, where the vast desert became the battlefield.

This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit of the German 8-wheeled heavy armored car Sd.Kfz.232. It mainly reproduces the Afrika Korps specifications. ●The distinctive appearance of the 193mm long vehicle with a flat body and large frame antenna is modeled with high realism. ●The complex undercarriage with 8-wheel drive and 8-wheel steering is also finished with a three-dimensional look. ●Metal gun barrel, delicate etched small hooks and light guards are included. They give the large vehicle a more refined look. ●Tools and equipment are also sharply finished. ●A rich set of accessory parts such as early type jerrycans and haversacks is included. ●Includes a standing officer figure wearing tropical uniform and a half-figure of a commander sitting in the turret hatch. ●The decal set includes four types: two types for the North African front, as well as the Balkan and Kursk campaigns.
