The 3-ton 4x2 cargo truck, with over 70,000 units produced between 1937 and 1944, became the representative transport truck of the German army during World War II. It was a civilian truck that appeared in 1935 and was converted for military use, equipped with a simple rear-wheel drive chassis and a 68-horsepower gasoline engine. It had excellent durability and off-road capability, and demonstrated high transport capacity with its large cargo bed. It worked tirelessly on transport missions of troops, ammunition, fuel, etc. on all fronts from the Western Front to Russia and North Africa, and supported the German army until the end of the war.
