In World War II, when securing air superiority was paramount, the US military's 2 1/2-ton fuel truck played a vital role in supplying fuel and lubricants to aircraft and other vehicles. Appearing as a derivative of the widely used 2 1/2-ton truck, it featured a large fuel tank and an engine-driven refueling pump in the cargo bed. The refueling pump was operated by opening a door on the side of the tank. It had a crew of two, adopted a highly capable 6-wheel drive system, and was equipped with a 6-cylinder 4-stroke engine. In the latter half of the war, as airfields were secured near the front lines by the Allied counteroffensive, efficient refueling operations were carried out using fuel trucks.

This is a plastic model assembly kit of a US Army 2 1/2 ton 6x6 fuel truck. ●1/48 scale, 136mm in length, 52mm in width. ●The hardtop cabin and cargo bed with a large fuel tank are realistically modeled. ●The doors on the sides of the tank can be opened or closed, and the hose reels inside are also reproduced. ●The fuel pump housed in the front of the tank is also included as a part. ●The fuel hose uses vinyl pipe and enamel wire for a high-quality finish. ●Includes two soldier figures in the act of refueling and two types of decals for vehicles belonging to the Army Air Corps.
