■Product Description
[The Queen of the Desert Appears in 1/48 World]
During World War II, the British Army operated infantry tanks equipped with strong defensive capabilities to support their infantry. Among them, the Matilda was the second infantry tank developed in the late 1930s. On the North African front, it fought valiantly as the British Army's main battle tank, making full use of its defensive capabilities. It repelled all German tank guns and anti-tank guns, and was respectfully called the "Queen of the Desert." Its battle against the German 88mm gun in Operation Battleaxe in June 1941 is particularly famous, and it has left its mark on military history as an indispensable presence when talking about the fierce battles in North Africa.
