■Product Description
[A Unique and Unsung Hero of the Battlefield]
During World War II, the British Army used various types of pickup truck-style military vehicles that were based on passenger car chassis. These small military vehicles were called light utility cars, and several companies developed and produced them based on their own designs, but regardless of the manufacturer or model, they were affectionately known as Tilly by soldiers. They were usually rear-wheel drive with an engine of about 30 horsepower. In the latter half of the war, they handed over their frontline duties to Jeeps, but they were widely used for liaison duties behind the front lines and at air bases, and continued to run until the end of the war.
