■Product Description
[The Origin of Lightweight Sports Cars That Continues to Shine]
The Lotus 7 is a masterpiece of lightweight sports cars produced by the British sports car manufacturer Lotus from 1957 to 1973. Among the Lotus 7s, which were produced up to Series IV with improvements, Series II, the most mass-produced type, was announced in 1960. The frame was redesigned, the rear suspension was modified, and the wheels were reduced from 15 inches to 13 inches. The nose cowl and front and rear fenders, which were made of aluminum, were changed to FRP. Furthermore, those equipped with high-performance engines such as Cosworth were called Super 7s. After 1973, production by Lotus ceased, but Lotus dealer Caterham purchased the equipment and continued production and sales. Renamed the Caterham Seven, it continues to produce various Sevens for enthusiastic enthusiasts.
