■Product Description
[The Black Beauty that Brought Innovation]
The Type 79 appeared at the sixth race of the season, the Belgian GP, the following year, as the perfected version of the innovative wing car, the Type 78, introduced by Lotus in 1977. By making the rear suspension inboard and changing the placement of the fuel tank and exhaust pipes, the Venturi effect was maximized, resulting in overwhelming speed. Mario Andretti immediately achieved a pole-to-finish, and continued his winning streak with Ronnie Peterson, securing 5 wins for Mario Andretti and 1 win for Ronnie Peterson. They won both the driver and team championship titles before the final race. The Lotus Type 79, also known as the "Black Beauty" due to its beautiful body design and black coloring, is an epoch-making car that will remain in the history of F1 Grand Prix.
