■Product Description
[Half-track that supported the Blitzkrieg] Among the half-track vehicles widely used by the German army during World War II, the Hanomag personnel carrier Sd.Kfz.251 was produced starting in 1937. The first mass-produced model, the A type, was equipped with a 4171cc inline 6-cylinder gasoline engine with an output of 100 horsepower. This truck, which combined wheels and tracks, had excellent off-road capability and could transport 10 soldiers, as well as tow artillery and various trailers. This vehicle was put into combat from the Polish campaign in 1939 and made a great contribution to the German armored divisions' blitzkrieg by utilizing its high mobility. Many improved models aimed at increasing productivity, as well as derivative models equipped with weapons such as anti-tank guns, were created, and by the end of the war in 1945, approximately 16,000 units had been produced, demonstrating its capabilities on various fronts.
