The "Atago" was commissioned as the second ship of the Takao-class heavy cruisers. It fought through the Southern Operation and the Third Battle of the Solomon Islands, but was sunk by a US submarine in the Battle of Leyte Gulf in 1944. This kit is a 1/700 scale plastic model kit of the "Atago" as it appeared in 1942, before it was equipped with radar and countless machine guns.With a parts configuration that focuses on the essentials, it is simple, easy to assemble, and accurately reproduces the ship. Various armaments, such as anti-aircraft guns and machine guns, have been newly designed and added.
