■Product Description
Ken and Mary's Skyline
The fourth-generation Skyline C110 series, affectionately known as "Kenmeri," was born in September 1972 as a full model change of its great predecessor, the C10 series. From the time of its release, the commercials featured two young people, "Ken and Mary," as the characters, and the romantic and human story in the commercials became extremely popular with a wide range of age groups, eventually becoming a social phenomenon. The Kenmeri car itself was a huge hit, but the merchandise produced in connection with it was also a hit, with T-shirt sales exceeding 300,000 units. With its basic style of a long nose and short deck, round four-lamp taillights, surfing line, and horizontal needle meters, the Kenmeri had all the Skyline identity elements and became the biggest hit in history, with cumulative production exceeding 670,000 units. Among the Kenmeri models, the 4-door model came to be called "Yonmeri" (4-door Kenmeri) from the mid-1980s, and is now also affectionately known as "Yonmeri."
