■Product Description
Volkswagen Beetle 1303S
The VW Beetle, which debuted in 1938, was manufactured until 2003, undergoing minor changes along the way, and was loved all over the world. In 1971, the 1302 series was added, retaining the basic design of an air-cooled horizontally opposed engine mounted in the rear, but changing the front suspension from the conventional torsion bar to a MacPherson strut system. It was characterized by its bulging bonnet shape. In 1973, it underwent a minor change to the 1303 series, which had a significantly curved windshield. The taillights were also enlarged. The 1303 was equipped with a 1300cc engine, and the 1303S with a 1600cc engine. Production of the 1303 series ended in 1975, and thereafter the torsion bar type continued to be produced, but the convertible was based on the 1303S and was manufactured until 1979.
