■Product Description
The M577 is a variant of the M113 armored personnel carrier, developed for use as a mobile command post at the battalion level on the battlefield. Although it is a mobile command vehicle, when used as a command post, the field tent at the rear of the vehicle is deployed after parking. The M577 was introduced to the US Army in 1962 and saw combat in the Vietnam War, and was also used in the 2003 invasion of Iraq. This vehicle is used by many militaries around the world as an armored ambulance, emergency medical vehicle, and fire truck, and is also used by police and law enforcement agencies as a tactical response vehicle. Its distinctive external feature is the raised roof at the rear of the vehicle, which allows the commander to stand up without obstruction, and the presence of an auxiliary power unit (APU) on the front roof, making it easily distinguishable from the base M113.
