■Product Description
Introducing a new product from Takom's "Super Blitz" series.
"Super Blitz" is a more refined new series than the existing "Blitz" brand, which prioritizes ease of assembly with fewer parts and Takom's standard precise detail. It further reduces the number of parts without compromising accuracy and features a simpler design. "Super Blitz" is a series that provides modelers with an efficient and comfortable assembly experience.
The Panther Ausf. F is an improved version following the Ausf. G, which was developed to address the need for reinforced armor based on lessons learned from previous battles and to improve productivity. Development of this vehicle began at the end of 1943. It was equipped with a KwK44/1 tank gun and a Schmalturm (small turret) with a stereoscopic rangefinder, which slightly reduced its weight. Furthermore, the width of the front armor plate was narrowed to reduce the surface area of the turret, and the main gun mantlet was made into a Saukopf (pig's head) type to prevent shot traps, thus enhancing its defensive capabilities. The first Schmalturm prototype was produced in 1944 and mounted on a standard G-type chassis in August, and the second prototype turret was mounted on another G-type in January of the following year. In the mass production plan of October 1944, it was stated that the F-type would be manufactured from March to May 1945, but by January 1945, the initial completion date had been postponed to June to August, and the war ended before that. After the war, the prototype turrets were seized by the American and British armies and sent to their respective countries for evaluation.
