The Red Castle was an aircraft carrier of the Imperial Japanese Navy. She was launched in 1907 as a cruiser by the Eighty-Eight Fleet, but when construction was halted by the Washington Conference and the Treaty of Disarmament, she was converted from a cruiser to an aircraft carrier within the scope of the treaty. She was initially completed as a three-stage aircraft carrier, but was later converted into a full-stage aircraft carrier. The Red Castle entered the Indian Ocean in 1941 as part of the attack on Pearl Harbor and fought with the British at the Battle of Ceylon in April 1942.
