■Product Description
The M50 Ontos is a US Marine Corps self-propelled recoilless rifle developed in the 1950s as an anti-tank vehicle, equipped with six M40 106mm recoilless rifles.
In the 1950s, the US Army decided on a plan to develop a variety of lightweight armored vehicles using a general-purpose chassis, and when the T165, equipped with six 106mm recoilless rifles, was prototyped, the improved T165E2 was officially adopted as the M50 in 1955.
When this vehicle was deployed in combat during the Vietnam War from the mid-1960s, it was rarely used in its intended anti-tank combat, but it proved effective in anti-infantry combat in battles such as Hue and Khe Sanh.
The M50A1 is a vehicle in which the engines of 176 M50s were replaced from 6-cylinder engines to V8 engines between 1963 and 1965.
