■Product Description
The USS Missouri is the third ship of the Iowa-class battleships of the United States Navy.
The 16-inch 50-caliber Mk.7 gun mounted on the Iowa-class was developed based on the 16-inch 45-caliber Mk.6 gun of the North Carolina-class and South Dakota-class.
The Mk.7 used the same ammunition as the Mk.6, but its power was increased by lengthening the barrel and changing the propellant charge to a low-pressure charge for longer barrels to increase the muzzle velocity.
The turret and hydraulic system were also redesigned accordingly.
As a result of the longer barrel and higher muzzle velocity, the Mk.7 was less affected by wind, resulting in a longer range than the Mk.6, as well as improved power and accuracy at close range.
