■Product Description
The M60 was a main battle tank developed by the United States as a successor to the M46, M47, and M48, to counter the Soviet Union's new medium tank, the T-54A. The M60A1 tank was a mass-production improved version of the M60 tank, and production began in 1962, four years after the completion of the M60 prototype, in order to counter the Soviet T-62 medium tank which was deployed from 1961. The turret was changed from the M60's tortoise shell shape to a shape with a larger internal volume and thicker frontal armor that provided better ballistic protection. Combined with good mobility thanks to a powerful engine and a powerful 105mm L7A1 tank gun, it was an excellent tank with a good balance of offense, mobility, and defense, and it became the standard main battle tank not only for the US military but also for Western countries, and it became a huge best-selling tank, recording an astonishing production number of approximately 20,000 units for a second-generation MBT after the war.
