The LCA (Landing Craft Assault) was an assault landing craft widely used in World War II. Developed in Britain, the LCA was used not only by the British military but also by special forces such as the US Army Rangers as a means of maritime assault transport. Some LCAs were modified in the field by the US Army Rangers and equipped with launchers for firing ropes with grappling hooks.
