The Kunming-class destroyer (052D) is a 2014 NATO code-named cruise missile destroyer. The radar uses a 346A multifunctional phase-door array to launch fleet anti-aircraft missiles.・The system is equipped with HHQ-9 with a vertical launcher in the same series as the Type 052C.
The main gun has also been replaced by the newly developed H/PJ-38 70 caliber 130 mm single-shot gun, which replaced the main gun with the 052C 100 mm single-shot gun. The 052DL flight deck from the 14th ship, which entered service in 2020, is about four meters longer than conventional ships to prepare for the introduction of the Z-20 medium-sized helicopter.
