■Product Description
Micromir has released a completely new mold 1/144 Myasyshchev 3MS "Bison-B" strategic bomber. The 3M is an improved version of the M-4, which first flew in 1953. The M-4 was a bomber developed using innovative technology, such as being equipped with four Mikulin AM-3 turbojet engines at the wing roots, a tandem landing gear with main landing gear at the front and rear of the fuselage, and auxiliary wheels at the wingtips on both sides, allowing it to carry a maximum payload of 24 tons. However, it had the problem of having too short a range for a strategic bomber. The 3M developed by Myasyshchev was changed to the more fuel-efficient Dobrinin RD-7 engine compared to the M-4, and the fuselage was redesigned to reduce the weight of the airframe, while the main wings were enlarged. In addition, an aerial refueling probe was installed in the nose, which made it possible to greatly extend the range. The 3M first flew in 1956 and began to be deployed to units from 1958. The 3MS is an improved version of the 3M, with the engine replaced by the RD-3M-500A.
