■Product Description
The XB-70 was a strategic bomber developed by North American Aviation based on the US Air Force's "Valkyrie Project." It was planned as a supersonic, nuclear-fueled bomber capable of a top speed of Mach 3 and a non-stop round trip between Alaska, a US territory, and Moscow, the capital of the Soviet Union.
The aircraft made its maiden flight in 1964, but was not officially adopted due to the development of intercontinental ballistic missiles and other factors that rendered it obsolete.
In 1966, the second prototype was lost in a mid-air collision, but the first prototype continued to fly after being transferred to NASA for the purpose of collecting data for the SST (Super Sonic Transporter) development program.
This injection plastic kit includes two types of canopy/upper nose parts (for takeoff/landing and supersonic flight), photo-etched parts, 3D-printed afterburners, and four types of decals.
The wingtip parts can be selected from three types: approximately 0 degrees down for takeoff/landing and low-speed flight, approximately 25 degrees down for medium-speed flight, and approximately 65 degrees down for high-speed flight.
When completed, the total length will be approximately 393mm and the total wingspan approximately 222mm (low-speed flight state).
