The shape remains that of a stag beetle. Its characteristic feature is that its body color becomes that of the insect it mimics, and these extremely rare individuals are collectively called Mugen Stag Beetles.
The reason why such mutations occur is currently unknown.

A beautiful, brightly shining individual that mimics the Femorata large-legged leaf beetle, which inhabits the tropical regions of Southeast Asia and riverbeds in central and western Japan.
