■Product Description
The cockpit and engine nozzle of the F-8E have been reproduced using 3D modeling and 3D printing.
This is a set of the cockpit and engine nozzle.
Among the many subtypes of the F-8 Crusader, this is the cockpit of the F-8E, where the AN/APQ-94 radar display is mounted on top of the instrument panel. The rudder pedals in front of the cockpit tab, the side consoles on the sides, and the canopy opening and closing mechanism behind the ejection seat have been reproduced.
The Mk.F7 ejection seat is molded as one piece with the cockpit tab.
Early F-8 Crusaders were equipped with VOUGHT ejection seats, but from the F-8D onwards, they were replaced with MB Mk.F5A. The Mk.F7 reproduced here is an ejection seat that was installed as a replacement in subtypes other than the F-8A.
※While there are subtypes of the MK.F7 ejection seat, this part does not reproduce any specific subtype.
To make painting easier, the cockpit is divided into two parts, front and rear, and the control stick is a separate part.
The F-8 was equipped with the J57-P-20. Pratt & Whitney calls it the JT3C. Looking at F-8 documentation, there seem to be about three patterns for the shape of the cover that covers the nozzle iris, but this part reproduces the shape installed on the F-8E/J, where the iris fits into a cylindrical shape when fully open. The iris itself is in a nearly fully closed state. The augmenter pipe section and frame holder are also reproduced.
The shape has been adjusted for Model Art. The kit's anti-glare shield needs to be cut off, but no other processing is required.
