■Product Description
This is a 3D model and 3D print reproduction of the F-8E cockpit. It is a set of cockpit tabs, instrument panel (anti-glare shield), reflector, and MB Mk.F7 ejection seat.
Among the many subtypes of the F-8 Crusader, this is the cockpit of the F-8E, which is equipped with the AN/APQ-94 radar display unit on top of the instrument panel. The rudder pedals in front of the cockpit tabs, the side console, and the canopy opening and closing mechanism behind the ejection seat have also been reproduced. The shape has been adjusted for Academy models. The anti-glare shield of the kit needs to be cut off, but no other modifications are required.
A Mk.F7 ejection seat is also included. Early F-8 Crusaders were equipped with VOUGHT ejection seats, but these were replaced with MB Mk.F5A seats from the F-8D onwards. The Mk.F7 reproduced here features an ejection seat, which was installed as a replacement part in subtypes other than the F-8A. It has been adjusted for Academy kits, so no modifications to the kit are necessary.
