■Product Description
Detail up your aircraft with 3D printed parts!
Recreate the speed brakes for the F-8 Crusader using 3D modeling and 3D printing.
The F-8's speed brakes are located in front of the main landing gear bay. In early F-8 models, the speed brakes and rocket pods were arranged in a two-tiered structure, but in later models, the rocket pod function was eliminated. The F-8E/J is equipped with speed brakes that do not have the function of operating as rocket pods. Because the speed brakes are designed to make contact with the underside of the fuselage, they cannot be fully extended when parked (the flight manual instructs to close the speed brakes during landing approach). This kit allows you to reproduce either the nearly fully extended state during flight or the lowered state when the hydraulic pressure has been released while parked. Due to the parts configuration of the kit, the bulkhead on the front of the main landing gear bay is also included. It reproduces the details seen on the F-8E/J. Clear parts are included for the navigation lights.
This product is a part that is attached by cutting out a portion of the kit's fuselage. You will need to cut the kit's part to match the mold. Depending on the processing method, it may be difficult to achieve a perfect fit, so this part is designed to be slightly oversized. Please gradually shave down the part that comes into contact with the kit and adjust it to fit the fuselage. *Please note that due to the inability to obtain complete documentation regarding the internal wall structure of the speed brake and the routing of the piping and wiring, some parts are reproduced based on imagination.
