The S404 is the most productive of the Unimog series. The engine is a straight-six cylinder petrol/straight-six cylinder diesel, the cabin has two two-door cabs/two-door convertibles, the S404 has two port axles with a radar frame and a deceleration gear, like the other Unimog series. It is usually powered by rear-wheel drive and can be switched to full-wheel drive when running on the wrong side of the road.
