Introducing a completely new mold 1/72 Pluto Project Supersonic Low Altitude Missile injection plastic kit from Micromir of Ukraine. Project Pluto was a US project to develop a Mach 3 cruise missile equipped with a nuclear ramjet engine. Two test engines were manufactured for this project and tested at the US Department of Energy's Nevada Test Site in 1961 and 1964. In this project, the missile, launched from the ground using a rocket booster, would be accelerated to the operating speed range of the ramjet engine, and the reactor would activate after reaching cruising altitude. Because the range would be virtually unlimited by using a nuclear reactor, it was said that the missile could be kept in the air on the high seas until an order was given to strike a target within Soviet territory. The proposal also considered the possibility of using the missile as an unmanned bomber, as it could be equipped with multiple nuclear warheads to attack multiple targets. However, this plan raised concerns that the missiles could cause secondary damage from radiation contained in their exhaust during flight, and that the shock waves generated when missiles over 20 meters long flew at low altitude at Mach 3 could cause devastating damage to the ground. Furthermore, there were numerous problems with the plan, such as the risk of radioactive contamination at the crash site if the missiles ran out of fuel or malfunctioned. For these reasons, the U.S. Department of Defense abandoned the test flights, and the plan was cancelled because it was demonstrated around the same time that the development of intercontinental ballistic missiles was easy. The kit includes an in-flight display base and one type of U.S. Air Force decal. When completed, the model will be approximately 329mm long and 53mm wide. Please consider this opportunity.
