■Product Description
We are pleased to announce the new collaborative product between Very Fire and Beaver Corporation: the 1/700 Japanese Navy Heavy Cruiser Takao 1944 DX Edition.
Takao was a heavy cruiser of the Japanese Navy, and the first ship of the Takao-class heavy cruisers. Construction began at the Yokosuka Naval Arsenal in April 1927, and she was given the name "Takao" in June of the same year. She was launched in May 1930. Commissioned in May 1932, she belonged to the Second Fleet, Fourth Squadron. At the start of the Pacific War, she was engaged in the Southern Operations and participated in the Second and Third Battles of the Solomon Islands in 1942. In 1943, she operated in the Central Pacific. After participating in the Battle of the Philippine Sea in June 1944 and the Battle of Leyte Gulf in October of the same year, she was sabotaged by British midget submarines while anchored in Singapore for repairs, and remained moored until the end of the war. After the war, it was seized by the British Navy and scuttled in the Strait of Malacca in 1946 along with the Myoko. The kit is a full-hull model and includes decals, photo-etched parts, metal chains, brass parts, and 3D-printed parts.
