■Product Description
The destroyer "Kikuzuki" was built as the ninth ship of the Mutsuki-class destroyers. Initially named "Destroyer No. 31," its name was changed from its hull number to "Kikuzuki."
At the start of the war, it belonged to an air squadron, but the Asashio-class and Kagerō-class destroyers, which had longer cruising ranges, provided direct escort, so "Kikuzuki" belonged to the South Seas Fleet and participated in the invasion operations at the beginning of the war.

In April 1942, it was deployed in the Port Moresby invasion operation.
However, on May 4, while refueling from the minelayer "Okishima," it was attacked by US carrier-based aircraft and became unable to sail due to a torpedo or bomb hit. After the crew evacuated, it was towed by the auxiliary submarine chaser "Dai-san Toshimaru" and ran aground on the coast of Gabutu Island, where it later sank, but was salvaged and investigated by the US military.
