■Product Description
This is a 1/43 scale handmade model car of the "Porsche 911 GT1 Le Mans 24 Hours 1996" produced by "EIDOLON".
This model faithfully reproduces, down to the smallest detail, the "Porsche 911 GT1" that secured 2nd and 3rd place in the 1996 Le Mans 24 Hours race, making its presence known to the world.
This is a re-release product.
【Vehicle Description】
In the "LM-GT1" races, where the regulations changed significantly in 1995, McLaren F1 demonstrated overwhelming strength.
Porsche only had the 911 GT2 as an option, but its specifications were not high enough to compete in the same class.
Porsche proceeded with the development of the 911 GT1 for the 1996 season. The monocoque used was from the 911 (993), which had already passed crash tests. The rear section was constructed with an original space frame, and the engine was mounted mid-ship.
The body retains the look of the original 911, but with a design tailored to the Circuit de la Sarthe. The graphics painted on the body are said to be computer-generated versions of the sponsor's "Mobil 1" logo.
[Model Description]
The model was created by conducting research on the actual car at the Porsche Museum, and then creating precise 3D data from that research.
Based on numerous photographic materials taken from all angles, the model was developed with the aim of creating a truly "definitive" model, pursuing accuracy down to the smallest detail.
Based on the 911 (993 type), the body, developed in accordance with the "LM-GT1" regulations, is composed of complex three-dimensional curved surfaces, requiring extremely high precision for its three-dimensional representation. Therefore, in this model, meticulous attention was paid to each and every surface of the body to complete the shaping.
The air intakes and outlets on each part of the body are deliberately constructed in a segmented manner to express the same three-dimensionality as the actual car, and even the details of the internal heat exchangers are precisely reproduced.
The interior faithfully reproduces the GT1-specific roll cage and Recaro bucket seats. The characteristics of the actual car are carefully expressed down to the smallest detail.
The BBS LM wheels, which are often used in Porsche racing cars, are constructed with aluminum turned parts for the rims and white metal parts that combine delicacy and three-dimensionality for the spokes, reproducing the same texture as the actual car. Furthermore, the letter markings on the tires are also precisely reproduced.
The unique Mobil 1 digital graphics are reproduced by faithfully drawing based on the actual car. The paint uses urethane clear coat for actual cars, so you can enjoy the beautiful gloss for a long time.
