■Product Description
[Vehicle Description]
The Group C category emerged in 1982 with the revision of FIA regulations. While there were no restrictions on engine displacement and only regulations on the amount of fuel used during races, there was a relatively high degree of freedom in machine construction, and many automobile manufacturers entered and participated.
Porsche developed the Porsche 956 as its first Group C car and put it into competition from 1982. The 956 was a machine full of new attempts, such as mounting a 2.7-liter horizontally opposed 6-cylinder twin-turbo engine in the center of the aluminum monocoque body, and designing the body as Porsche's first ground effect car, aiming to reduce drag and generate strong downforce.
After its introduction into competition in 1982, it achieved a brilliant record, including four consecutive victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans until 1985, before switching to the next-generation 962C. The 962 was based on the 956, with improvements primarily made to ensure driver safety. It debuted in 1984 to comply with the American IMSA-GTP class regulation that "the driver's toes must not extend beyond the front axle center while driving." Porsche extended the wheelbase (by 120 mm). Later, the FIA Group C also added the same standard to its regulations, so the 962 for Group C was named the 962C. The 962C won the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 1986 and 1987, and was very successful in races around the world, including Japan's JSPC (All Japan Sports Prototype Car Endurance Championship). This time, we have chosen the Advan Alfa Nova 962C as our motif, which showed overwhelming strength in the JSPC, winning three consecutive championships from 1985 to 1987, and then winning the championship in 1989.
【Model Description】
This model is a modified version of the 962C 3D data released by our company, creating a privateer-spec body for the 962C.
It reproduces the box-type tail from 1988 onwards and the rear wing with the same width as the works cars.
The large-diameter SSR wheels are reproduced with a sharp shape by combining aluminum rims with etched parts.
The wheels have rims made from aluminum machined parts with excellent roundness. Aiming for a sharp reproduction, the disc/spoke parts are combined with etched parts to achieve a suspension system that combines high quality and realism.
The distinctive Advan color scheme is achieved by painting the car body in red and black, applying black line decals to the striped areas, and then repeatedly applying and polishing several layers of clear coat to eliminate the decal edges and create a mirror finish.
The 962C is an icon of Porsche racing in the 1980s; please look forward to future variations.
