■Product Description
This is a 1/43 scale handmade model car of the "Honda Civic Type R (EK9) 1997" produced by "EIDOLON".

This model faithfully reproduces the "Honda Civic Type R (EK9)", which was released in 1997 as the third model in Honda's proud sports grade "Type R" series.

【Vehicle Description】

Although the 6th generation EK Civic released in September 1995 did not have a Type R setting, the top-grade SiR was a sufficiently fast car, equipped with a B16A VTEC engine that produced 170 horsepower from a 1.6-liter displacement.

There were many voices in the market longing for a Civic Type R, and in response, Honda finally released the Civic Type R (EK9) in August 1997, less than two years after the appearance of the 6th generation Civic.

As it was to bear the Type R name, it was required to have power performance and handling that far surpassed the SiR, and the engine featured meticulous attention to detail, including manual porting of the intake and exhaust manifolds, which is unusual for a mass-produced engine from a manufacturer, achieving a maximum output of 185 horsepower, equivalent to 116 horsepower per liter. The old exhaust system was also meticulously tuned, allowing VTEC to switch on from low RPMs and rev smoothly up to 8500 rpm, making it a car that only Honda could have made and which became extremely popular.

The body was reinforced in various places to ensure that the stiff suspension functioned properly, which increased the weight, but by thoroughly eliminating equipment that was not related to driving performance, it was made about 30 kg lighter than the SiR. The Civic underwent a minor change in September 1998, and the Type R also moved to the later model and was produced until November 2001.

Although it is not as fast as the current Civic Type R (FL5), the first generation is 415mm shorter in length and 390kg lighter, and its agile handling is sure to captivate many people once again. There used to be occasions when you could see EK9s that had been driven until they were in tatters on the streets, but now it has become a collector's car that is so highly sought after by hot hatch fans around the world that vehicle theft is a concern.

[Model Description]

The EK9 is broadly divided into early and late models, with September 1998 as the dividing line. The model being released this time is the early model, and based on data taken by 3D scanning the actual car, we designed the prototype to be as faithful as possible to the shape of the actual car without intentionally deforming the shape.

The body has fewer decorations as befits a sports model, but instead, we have studied the parts division of the actual car for the lights and other parts and have attempted to reproduce them with high resolution.

The headlights feature deep sculpting in the housing and meticulous attention to detail in expressing the sparkling multi-reflector, with finely sculpted white metal parts that have been plated to pursue a realistic look.

The interior is striking with its red Recaro seats, and all of these parts were designed based on scans of the real thing, so the realism in shape, size, and texture is guaranteed.

We will be releasing the early model first, but we are also diligently developing the later model, which will have a similar impression but will not share common parts such as the engine hood, fenders, front grille, and bumper. Please look forward to the development of the EK9, which boasts high resolution and outstanding proportions, created by Makeup.
