A plastic model of an alien inspired by the Kofu Incident, one of Japan's three major UFO incidents!
Around 6:30 p.m. on February 23, 1975, two elementary school students playing near a vineyard in the vicinity of Kamimachi housing complex in Kofu City, Yamanashi Prefecture, witnessed an orange object flying overhead and subsequently encountered a creature resembling an alien. The unidentified flying object (UFO) became nationally famous as one of Japan's three major UFO incidents due to multiple other sightings and the presence of highly credible physical evidence such as landing marks.
"Kofu Incident Alien ver.ZO" is a plastic model of a sculpture created by sculptor Genzo Ihara as an example for "Hobby Japan HMS Fantasy Model World UMA -Unidentified Mysterious Animal-" (published February 27, 2024). While capturing the characteristics and key points of eyewitness accounts, the design incorporates a unique interpretation, resulting in a retro-futuristic, somewhat nostalgic, eerie yet cute and distinctive design.
