A fascinating aircraft with nighttime equipment!!
This is a 1/48 scale plastic model assembly kit of the Me262B-1a/U1, a two-seat night fighter version of the Messerschmitt Me262, a jet aircraft put into practical use by the German military during World War II.
【About the actual aircraft】
The Messerschmitt Me262, the world's first practical jet fighter, needs no introduction to aviation fans. It was developed and put into practical use by the German military during World War II.
Deployment began in 1944, and it played an active role in interception and ground attack until the end of the war. It was equipped with two Junkers Jumo004 turbojet engines. More than 1400 aircraft were produced and operated by the end of the war, but they could not overcome Germany's disadvantage.
After the war, these aircraft were studied by various Allied countries. They helped to pave the way for the postwar jet age. In the harsh conditions of the later stages of the war, production of the Me262 continued, and various types were created with improvements.
The Me262B1-a/U1 was a night fighter variant with a two-seat airframe and equipped with the FuG.218 Neptune radar.

The airframe, with its triangular cross-section, is accurately represented by splitting it into left and right halves. The swept-back wing shape and the two-seat cockpit are also faithfully reproduced. The cockpit interior is also reproduced in detail, including the seats and instrument panel, and the seat belts are represented by photo-etched parts.
The canopy can be assembled in either the open or closed position, so you can enjoy carefully adding details to finish it. Furthermore, the distinctive nose antenna is provided as an etched part, recreating its unique appearance with a sharp finish.
Of course, not only the fuselage shape, but also the delicate parts of the landing gear and the landing gear bay are reproduced with etched parts for a sharp finish.
