This is a 1/48 scale plastic model assembly kit of the Me262A-1a/U-4, the bomber/interceptor version of the Messerschmitt Me262, a jet aircraft put into practical use by the German military during World War II.
About the actual aircraft
The Messerschmitt Me262, the world's first practical jet fighter, was developed and put into practical use by the German military during World War II. Deployment began in 1944, and it played an active role in interception and ground attack until the end of the war. It was equipped with two Junkers Jumo004 turbojet engines. More than 1,400 aircraft were produced and operated by the end of the war, but they could not reverse Germany's disadvantage.
