About the actual car
The XJ-S was announced in 1975 and sold until 1996 by Jaguar, a British company known worldwide as a manufacturer of sports cars and luxury sedans. The coupe type was produced first, but later Targa top types and fully open convertible types were also added to the lineup and gained popularity. The engine was initially a 5.3-liter V12, a Jaguar specialty. Later, along with body variations, a 3.6-liter inline 6-cylinder engine was added, and further, 4-liter inline 6-cylinder and 6-liter V12 engines were also added to the lineup. Its potential was also demonstrated in races, achieving numerous victories in American Trans-Am Series and European ETCC, among others.
