About the actual car
The Porsche 956 was developed by Porsche in the 1980s to coincide with the holding of the Prototype Sports Car Championship under Group C regulations. Subsequently, the Porsche 962 appeared from 1984 in accordance with revisions to the regulations, and appeared in the IMSA series in the United States. Furthermore, the 962C was created by making revisions to conform to the Group C regulations that came into effect in 1985. The machine was provided not only to works teams but also to private teams, and was active not only in the World Championship but also in races in the United States and Japan. It demonstrated the strength to dominate sports car racing worldwide.
