This is a 1/35 scale plastic model assembly kit that recreates four German soldiers from World War II in a tense battle scene on the Eastern Front in 1944.
As World War II entered its later stages, the German army was forced into a difficult defensive battle against the advancing Allied forces. In this situation, they continued to fight valiantly, ambushing enemy tanks and engaging in close combat with weapons such as anti-tank mines and Panzerfausts.
The model recreates a tense scene of German Panzergrenadiers lying in wait for Soviet tanks advancing on the Eastern Front, timing their attack. The original sculptor is Yoshitaka Hirano, a familiar name to military modelers. The tension of soldiers lurking in the shadows is palpable. The model is a Gen2 type kit that is popular with model fans, with enhanced realism achieved by dividing the wrists, ankles, and face into front and back halves to reproduce the depth of the cuffs and the pattern on the soles of the shoes. Four different styles are reproduced, including styles with camouflage smocks or camouflage parkas, as well as styles with regular military uniforms and camouflage trousers. The hems of the jackets are also separate parts for a three-dimensional finish. In addition, photo-etched parts such as belts and straps are included to enhance realism. The heads are reproduced with helmets, service caps, and one with a bandage wrapped around the head. The variety of options is a major attraction. The weapons they hold are also Gen2 type with sharp details. In addition to the Gew43 and StG44 assault rifles, a Panzerfaust and even a TMi-43 anti-tank mine are included. In addition, equipment such as gas mask cases, water bottles, bags, and pouches, as well as a dedicated wooden case for the Panzerfaust, are also modeled.
The realistic finish of the figures and the abundance of accessories make this a versatile set.
