[About the Wright Cyclone 9 Engine]
The Wright Cyclone was one of the engines used in many aircraft operated by the US military during World War II.
Developed by Curtiss-Wright, this radial air-cooled engine was produced from 1931 to 1950. The Wright Cyclone 9 had 9 cylinders and a displacement of 29.87 liters, producing 1200 horsepower.
During World War II, it was widely installed and played an active role in US military aircraft such as the F2A Buffalo, SBD Dauntless, SBC Helldiver, and B-17 Flying Fortress.
In addition to the single-row 9-cylinder engine, a double-row radial 18-cylinder engine was also developed.

This is a plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the American aircraft engine, the Wright Cyclone 9-cylinder radial air-cooled engine.
The scale is 1/12, and the finished diameter is approximately 11.6 cm. Atlantis Models is re-releasing a kit originally made by Monogram, based on Curtiss-Wright's official design drawings. The model meticulously reproduces details such as the cylinders with their air-cooled cooling horns, as well as the wiring, piping, and rods arranged around them. It realistically portrays a radial air-cooled engine with a mechanical finish. The engine comes with a reproduction of the center section of the three-blade propeller. A dedicated dolly is also modeled to enhance the realism of the finished product's display. The dolly includes a nameplate displaying the engine's specifications, recreating the atmosphere of a museum exhibit. The 8-page instruction manual, which also explains the engine's history, is another highlight.
