[About the Actual Aircraft]
The American B-24 Liberator played an active role in the European and Pacific theaters of war during World War II.
Developed by Consolidated Aircraft Corporation, deployment began in 1941. With its high-wing, slender, straight wings and thick fuselage, its long range and large bomb load made it effective not only as a bomber but also as a transport and patrol aircraft.
Mass production was carried out by bringing together America's industrial power, and the total number of aircraft produced across all types reached nearly 20,000. Among them, the B-24J was the first late-model main production type, with over 6,600 units produced.
It was equipped with four Pratt & Whitney R-1830-65 engines. A characteristic of the B-24 was the use of a roll-up shutter structure for the bomb bay doors.
Various types were deployed and played an active role not only on the European front but also in the Pacific theater due to their long range.
【About the Model】
This model is a 1/92 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the J-type, which was the mainstay of the later production models of the B-24. The finished size is a large model with a total length of approximately 22 cm and a wingspan of approximately 36 cm.
The high-wing layout, straight wings, Davis wing shape, and the distinctive vertically elongated cross-section of the aircraft are all realistically reproduced.
Furthermore, the four gun turrets and machine guns are movable even after completion. In addition, pilot and co-pilot figures are included for the cockpit, enhancing the realism.
The kit comes with a swivel stand with a joint that allows you to freely adjust the angle. The transparent stand is perfect for displaying the kit in flight.
The markings include a decal set featuring a nose art with a powerful illustration of Buffalo Bill.
