The T-33 Shooting Star was the primary jet practice aircraft used by the U.S. Air Force after World War II from 1948 onwards. It was also used by the Japanese Air Self-Defense Force and was a familiar aircraft in the Japanese air. The engine was powered by a single Allison J33-A-35 remote-focused turbojet engine. It had a top speed of Mach 0.8 in the absence of chip tanks and gears.
