About the actual vehicle
During World War II, the German army, which emphasized mobility, developed various wheeled armored vehicles and successfully deployed them for reconnaissance and fire support.
The Sd.Kfz.234 series, whose development began in August 1940, was one such vehicle, and four variations were lined up.
The last type of these variations was the Sd.Kfz.234/4.
The open-top fighting compartment was equipped with a powerful 7.5cm PAK40L/46 anti-tank gun, boasting high firepower.
89 units were produced between December 1944 and March 1945. Interestingly, a further improved version of the 234/4, the final model of the Sd.Kfz.234 series, was planned.
That was a type equipped with a long-barreled 7.5cm L/48 gun.
