About the actual car
The E46 model was the main machine that was active from the 1990s to the 2000s for BMW, which boasts a long history of glorious achievements in touring car racing. It was developed based on the 4th generation BMW 3 Series that appeared in 1999 and was entrusted to many teams that participated in touring car races around the world. Karly Motorsport, which competed in the Dutch Touring Car Championship (DTCC) from 1999 to 2003, also adopted the BMW E46. In 2001, they won the championship with Tom Coronel at the wheel. The BMW E46 continued to perform well in the European Touring Car Championship and the British Touring Car Championship afterward.
About the Model
This model is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit of the BMW 320i E46, the machine driven by Tom Coronel to victory in the 2001 German Touring Car Championship (DTCC).
This kit includes a 3D printed grille and bonnet pins. The delicate expression of the louvers is a finish only possible with 3D printing. By replacing the plastic molded parts in the kit, it will look sharper.
Of course, there is no need to process parting lines, and the ease of simply attaching them is also appealing. Furthermore, two types of 3D printed bonnet pins are also provided. Unlike photo-etched parts, no processing is required; fine details can be reproduced with a simple process of sanding down the engraved details on the kit's body parts and attaching 3D-printed bonnet pins.
Of course, the kit's interior accurately conveys the atmosphere of a racing model, with a roll cage, bucket seats, various equipment, and dashboard. The markings are those of the car driven by Tom Coronel, who won the DTCC. This is a model that touring car fans should not miss.
