About the actual aircraft
The A-10 Thunderbolt II is a US military ground attack aircraft used exclusively for close air support, which has been in service since 1977. It is equipped with twin engines and is characterized by its straight wing design. The underside of the wings and the fuselage have a total of 11 hardpoints, giving it the capability to carry 7,260 kg of bombs, rockets, missiles, etc. Furthermore, it is equipped with a GAU-8/A Avenger autocannon in the nose, achieving high offensive capabilities. Improvements have continued since deployment, and the A-10C, which appeared from 2005, is a modified version of the A model with a glass cockpit. It participated in combat during the 1991 Gulf War, where it demonstrated its high reliability and offensive capabilities, earning high praise. The 47th Fighter Squadron, Air Force Reserve of the 917th Wing, based at Barksdale Air Force Base, is one of the units that operates the A-10, and in the 1980s after deployment, they also conducted tests on various camouflage patterns. Although it was not officially adopted, desert camouflage for operations in the desert was also tested.

About the model
This is a 1/48 scale plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the A-10A, the A model of the US military's ground attack aircraft, the A-10.
The parts are made by Italeri and the kit comes with Japanese assembly instructions made by Platz, so you can enjoy it with peace of mind. This kit includes metal parts (made by Master) and a metal pitot tube to recreate the GAU-8 Avenger Gatling gun mounted on the nose, a distinctive feature of the A-10. This further enhances the impressive presence and detail of the finished model. The finished model has a total length of 338mm, and the distinctive form with straight wings and two engines mounted on its back is faithfully reproduced. Not only the shape of the aircraft, but also the panel lines are realistically expressed. Some inspection panels can be assembled in either open or closed positions. The kit also includes masking stickers that are convenient for painting the canopy frame. The markings reproduce the desert camouflage, a desert color scheme that was experimentally applied to A-10As operated by the Air Force Reserve of the 47th Fighter Squadron, 917th Wing in the 1980s. Although it was never officially adopted, this aircraft is characterized by its rare desert camouflage, which is unusual for an A-10.
