About the actual car
The Fiesta S2000 is the Super 2000 machine that Ford, which has been active in rallies around the world for many years, debuted at the 2010 Monte Carlo Rally. Developed in cooperation with Ford and M-Sport, it is a machine that makes use of the know-how of the highly successful Focus RS WRC. The base vehicle is the 4th generation Ford Fiesta, which was released in 2008. The machine, modified to comply with S2000 regulations, features a dynamic body with overfenders at the front and rear, powered by a 1998cc inline four-cylinder engine. It has MacPherson strut suspension at both the front and rear, and is 4WD. It debuted at the 2010 Monte Carlo Rally, winning with Mikko Hirvonen at the wheel. This debut win gave it momentum for its subsequent success.
About the Model
This is a 1/24 scale plastic model assembly kit of the Ford Fiesta S2000 released by Belkits, a Belgian model manufacturer passionate about rally car model development.
It has 125 parts, with a finished length of 168mm and a width of 77mm. The model replicates the tarmac rally specification that won its debut race, the 2010 Monte Carlo Rally. The body features some parts to recreate the front fenders, sharply reproducing the powerful body design. The blue lines are also included as decals for the markings.
The underside of the chassis is mechanically reproduced, including the suspension and 4WD drive shafts. Furthermore, the cockpit is modeled with rally equipment such as fire extinguishers.
