A legendary aircraft that produced many fighter pilots
The Japan Air Self-Defense Force T-2 was developed in 1967 as the first domestically produced supersonic advanced trainer aircraft. The first prototype XT-2 made its maiden flight on July 20, 1971.
The T-2 is broadly divided into two types: the standard model used in the basic combat pilot course, and the later model equipped with a radar FCS and cannon, also used in the combat pilot course.
